Bow-building workshop
As already mentioned in the newsletter, there are two workshops, that fit our bill and sparked our interest. What separates one from the other are three characteristics
- workshop duration
- travel time to the bowyer
- price and materials used
Gerhard WIesler Bogenbau
Gerhard Wiesler a compact and short version of the workshop in which you'll learn to and actually build your own long-, horse or recurve bow.
Characteristics:
Characteristics:
- workshop duration: one and a half days or respectively 12 hours (including lunch break)
- travel time: none, he will come to us
- cost: € 195,- (material used to build the bow: rattan), maybe slightly more to compensate for the bowyer's travel time
Weninger Bogenbau Werkstatt
Anton Weninger is a bowyer in Burgenland that offers a longer workshop which also includes insights into the different materials and types of wood. He also offers the possibility to use different types when making your own bow.
Characteristics:
After having given you the overview over what we consider to be the overall best possibilities, we'd like to know whether you'd be interested in participating at a workshop and if so, which your preference is. We set up a poll and would really appreciate it if you let us now by voting for one of the two options. Taking the poll doesn't necessarily mean registering for a workshop. We'll use this information as a frame of reference to talk to the bowyers and set up some possible dates and get back to you to tell you about the result. Only then we'll be able to take registrations for the workshop.
As always: if there are any questions, don't hesitate to ask us in loco or shoot as a mail, text or a pigeon. We'll be more than happy to help!
